Well, I wanted to be a TwitFace, but it looks like for now I’m just a Twit.
Facebook just locked me out again, claiming “suspicious activity.” Apparently they think liking pages, asking to join groups, and editing my own information is “suspicious.” They’re “always watching out for my security,” (oh, so THAT’s what this is?) which apparently means they don’t trust a damn thing I say or do.
Feh.
I uploaded the requested picture that “looks like me,” and hope to convince Soulless Algorithm that I am, in fact, me.
It took two or three days the last time this happened for them to decide that a picture of me was not a picture of me.
The most frustrating thing about all of this is that nowhere, NOWHERE on Facebook is there a place to actually connect with a human being who can help. Zero support, nothing on the help pages or communities that say how to keep this from happening over and over again. Oh, and once Facebook has decided there is “suspicious activity” on the account, they lock it, and you can’t get help if your account is locked. Brilliant! That’s just the way to win back the thousands (maybe even millions) of users who have quit over privacy concerns, politics and ads. In the meantime, I’m supposed to just sit here and wait for Soulless Algorithm to decide my fate, using convoluted mathematical reasoning unknown. Reasoning used in the place of human eyeballs or communication, apparently.
So thanks to the four people who already looked at my page over there, and I hope I’ll be back soon.
But if they disable me again, fuggedaboudum.

There is something weird going on with facebook.
I don’t have it connected to my blog, as my original intent was to keep close to family in Europe. Not use it as the Writer of Words blog thingy. But every once in a while I would take a link of a blog post I wrote and post it in there and shared it.
Lately, since we got back from Switzerland, it won’t let me. I’m ‘suspicious’ with my activity, apparently. ? All I’m doing is sharing something I wrote on another platform.
It’s weird. Anyway I spend less than a little time on there these days because it’s just so…useless. (I do use it for the neighbourhood dog walking thing still, but that’s about it.)
Well it’s a relief to know it’s not just me this is happening to. It is useless – I said when I quit the first time that I thought it was a necessary evil, but now I just think it is evil. And demented, apparently. Maybe if they had given a damn about privacy in the first place they wouldn’t have to be backpedaling so hard right now. I’m ready to wash my hands of it. SobJ better get busy tweeting…something😯
I’ve never used Facebook. I’ve been considering it since I’ve started blogging, but haven’t been super excited about the idea. Your recent posts suggest that I’ve made the right call by staying away.
That happened to me once. I was in FB jail for 24 hours, and I’m still not sure what I did wrong.
