Found it. Right there in my shoe. So much for DIY heroics. But I got a good story out of it, and I’m only out $8.99 and some splinters! I knew it probably fell out of my pocket on my jeans’ way to the laundry basket, but I never would have suspected my shoe was capable of the save–nice catch! Can’t think why I didn’t see it when I was frantically looking under the bed, but the “frantic” probably explains it. Please don’t tell Angelic Daughter–I want to maintain the illusion of Mom as an invincible, undefeated Mrs. Fixit. So let’s keep this little lapse just between us, how ’bout?
